Assistant Accountant

RECfinancial has partnered with a well established, national organisation based in Leicester to recruit a skilled Assistant Accountant for a 15-month contract.

Ideal for candidates based within the Leicester / Leicestershire / Nottingham / Derby / Warwickshire area.

This position is centered at the Leicester site and provides flexible hybrid working options. The organisation fosters a supportive, development-driven environment for its Finance team, offering strong prospects for transitioning to a permanent position.

In this role, you will take ownership of key financial outputs while overseeing routine transactional services across both monthly and quarterly cycles.

Key responsibilities include preparing and analysing monthly management accounts, conducting balance sheet reconciliations, managing intercompany transactions, and handling accruals and prepayments. In addition to managing ad hoc finance tasks, you will provide critical financial insights to guide strategic decision-making.

The client is seeking a proactive finance professional bringing at least two years of relevant accounting experience gained in a fast-paced environment.

Candidates should be part-qualified or actively studying towards an ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification, with strong Excel skills, sharp attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities to engage effectively with key internal stakeholders and non finance departments across the organisation.

The position offers a salary range of £30,000 to £33,000, full study support, hybrid working, and a comprehensive benefits package, with the potential for transition to a permanent role based on performance and business needs.
