Design Engineer – Smoke Ventilation

Location: Worcester, Hybrid - Can be remote for the right candidate Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00–17:00 Salary: Up to £50,000 DOE
The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Design Engineer to join a specialist engineering business within the smoke ventilation and life-safety sector. As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, estimating and technical support of smoke ventilation systems across the full project lifecycle. You'll work closely with Sales, Operations, Project Managers, Engineers, contractors and clients to develop compliant and commercially competitive solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design smoke ventilation systems using AutoCAD and relevant engineering tools.
- Produce layouts, schematics and technical documentation.
- Interpret fire strategies, specifications and consultant drawings.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant standards and guidance.
- Prepare cost estimates, take-offs and quotations.
- Produce technical proposals and tender submissions.
- Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers for pricing and technical information.
