Northampton £28,000 to £33,000 FTE (pro rata) 2 to 3 days per week
Blusource Recruitment is working with an established organisation in Northampton to recruit an experienced Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant on a permanent, part-time basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a varied, hands-on finance position, offering the flexibility of working just 2 to 3 days per week.
The organisation is looking for someone who can take responsibility for the day-to-day bookkeeping and transactional finance duties, ensuring the accounts are maintained accurately and efficiently.

The role will involve:
Managing day-to-day bookkeeping and financial transactions
Processing sales invoices, including invoicing to local authorities
Processing purchase invoices and maintaining accurate records
Completing bank reconciliations
Maintaining financial records using Sage 50
Supporting the smooth running of the finance function

About you
We’re keen to speak with candidates who have a solid background in bookkeeping, accounts administration or transactional finance and enjoy taking responsibility for a varied workload.
You may currently be working as a Bookkeeper, Finance Officer, Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant, Accounts Manager or Company Accountant, or perhaps have previously held one of these positions and are now looking for something part-time.
Experience using Sage 50 would be particularly beneficial, alongside good organisational skills, attention to detail and the confidence to manage day-to-day accounts with minimal supervision.
You don’t necessarily need to be formally qualified, as practical bookkeeping experience and the ability to manage the responsibilities of the role will be particularly important.
What’s on offer?
£28,000 to £33,000 FTE, pro rata depending on experience
Permanent, part-time position, 2 to 3 days per week
Northampton location, NN3 area
A varied, hands-on bookkeeping and finance position
Potential for a structured handover with the retiring accountant
The opportunity to work within a purpose-driven organisation
This could be particularly appealing to an experienced Finance Officer, Company Accountant or Bookkeeper looking to reduce their working hours while retaining responsibility for the day-to-day accounts.
Equally, it could suit an experienced Finance Assistant or Accounts Assistant looking for a position offering greater ownership and variety.
If you’re looking for a flexible, part-time finance opportunity in Northampton, we’d be pleased to hear from you.
