XYZ Lathe Operator – Engineering

Location: Stoke-on-Trent

Pay Rate: £15.00 – £16.50 per hour (DOE)

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:00am – 5:00pm

Overtime: Available

We are currently recruiting for an experienced XYZ Lathe Operator to join an established engineering company based in the Stoke-on-Trent area.

The successful candidate must have proven experience operating XYZ lathes within an engineering or precision machining environment. We are looking for someone with a strong engineering background who can work independently, produce quality components and maintain high standards of accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operating and setting XYZ lathes.
• Producing components to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Reading and interpreting technical engineering drawings.
• Carrying out quality checks and measurements to ensure components meet required tolerances.
• Selecting appropriate tooling and making adjustments where necessary.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working area.
• Working to production deadlines whilst maintaining quality standards.
• Following all company health and safety procedures.

Essential Requirements:

• Proven, previous experience operating XYZ lathes.
• Strong background within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Good understanding of machining processes, tooling and tolerances.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Reliable, hardworking and able to work independently.
• Must be able to travel to the site in Stoke-on-Trent daily.

Working Hours:

Monday to Thursday, 7:00am – 5:00pm.

Overtime available.

Pay:

£15.00 – £16.50 per hour, depending on experience.
