Housing Support Worker needed in Halifax

This is a temporary role and the rate is £13.70ph PAYE

The successful candidate will provide tailored, hands‑on support to individuals and families as they move from temporary accommodation into safe, suitable and sustainable housing. They will bring proven experience of working with vulnerable people facing a range of challenges including mental and physical health issues, substance misuse, financial hardship and domestic abuse, and will confidently identify and escalate any safeguarding concerns.

A strong communicator with solid welfare benefits knowledge, they will be able to work independently across the borough, be a car user, and manage a busy schedule of home visits, office‑based work and duty rota responsibilities. They will have a background in supporting clients with complex needs, helping them secure appropriate interim accommodation and then progressing them into privately rented housing, ensuring the right ongoing support is in place so tenancies can thrive.
